Craft Beer & Gin fans from across Cornwall will want to head to Newquay this half term, when award winning Atlantic Brewery & Distillery take over the tap at 55 Yards from the 15th to the 18th February. Running from the Thursday to the Sunday night, drinkers will have the chance to taste Atlantic's craft beer and gin range, as well as some specials brewed & distilled for the occasion. There will be nightly opportunities to met the Atlantic team, before the weekend rounds off with master brewer himself, Stuart Thomson, taking to the decks as part of The Vinyl Collective for a night of soul, funk and rare groove.

Stuart has been quietly producing top quality, certified Organic beers from his farmhouse micro-brewery for the last 12 years. The Atlantic ethos is that brewing organic, Vegan beer using traditional methods does not need to mean old fashioned beer. With hops grown on his own land, and special ingredients grown at home or foraged from the Newquay coastline, Stuart has created a truly unique range of refreshing and memorable beers. These include Mandarina Cornovia, a smooth and aromatic pale ale, and Heligan Honey, a smooth crisp bitter made with honey from The Lost Gardens of Heligan’s own bees. Both these beers earned Stuart accolades at the 2017 Kernow CAMRA Falmouth Beer festival, winning Bronze and Gold respectively in the Speciality Ale category. A brand new brew joining them at this event will be Atlantic Simcotica: a beautifully balanced pale ale showcasing the grapefruit and passion fruit characteristics of the Simcoe hop.

Sticking with the notion of organic ingredients and delicious flavours, Atlantic is also a name to note in the ever growing Cornish gin market, with Distiller David Carbis making some of the most refined gins being produced in the South West. The Jynevra range includes the delicious Gorsedh, a rich, dry gin packed with organic gorse flowers, and the Smoked Green Tea Gin; infused with green tea leaves which have been cold smoked over oak. Stocked by the likes of Fifteen at Watergate Bay and Lewinnick Lodge, these distinctive and elegant gins are gaining an enviable reputation with Cornwall's restaurateurs and chefs.

This will be the first time that the full range of Atlantic's beers and gins will be available to drink in one place, and 55 yards, Newquay’s premier Gin and craft beer venue, is the ideal venue. Tucked 55 yards from the centre of town, the grown up and stylish venue prides itself on the quality of its drinks as well as championing local craft Brewers and Distillers.

The takeover will start at 4pm on Thursday 15th Feb, with special promotions running throughout the weekend.
