The Old Ale House Team celebrating the Pub of the Year.

After a year of tastings being recorded by CAMRA members visiting Cornish Pubs a selection of 62 pubs were selected to feature in this years Good Beer Guide. A second call was made to all Cornish Members to nominate their favourite pubs in the county. Of the 600 pubs in the county the top 1% of just 6 were identified and covertly judged by a team of dedicated volunteers. The pubs were judged primarily on beer quality but the was also a focus on service, the welcome received, community focus, overall experience and a sympathies with CAMRAs aims. The Judging scores were exceedingly close as you would expect with the pubs in the county. The winner was identified and Robin and his team at the Old Ale House were identified as the Champions being crowned CAMRA Kernow Pub of the Year 2017.

The presentation was awarded in front of a packed Ale House Crowd, where regulars and CAMRA members raised a glass from the Range of Skinners ales and cider to celebrate the Pubs achievement.
